Cadiz Man Charged With Impersonating A Police Officer

A Cadiz man was arrested Thursday morning after a report of a man claiming to be law enforcement and threatening a woman.

Trigg County Sheriff Aaron Acree says Major Mike Sandbrink arrested 58-year-old Travis Calhoun on a warrant for impersonating a police officer. The charge came after Calhoun reportedly followed a Cadiz woman and told her he was a police officer. Deputies say he threatened to detain the woman.

Calhoun reportedly told deputies that he was in fact a “deputy” at the Todd County Jail and produced a jail ID and badge. Calhoun was allegedly employed at the jail before June. Deputies say Calhoun is a doctor, not a police officer.

Acree says if you are ever in a situation like this to call 911.
