Not All Evidence Back On McHenry Street Murder Case

Robert Torian III

A man accused of a 2019 murder on McHenry Street will have another pretrial hearing early next year, as his lawyer is continuing to wait on evidence in the case.

Robert Torian III is charged with the murder of Terrill Moore and appeared virtually before Circuit Judge Andrew Self Wednesday afternoon. Jason Byrd, attorney for Torian, said they have asked for discovery in the case with Commonwealth Attorney Rick Boling, having reached out to the Hopkinsville Police Department for that.

He added there is a lot of evidence to go through.

Byrd is the third attorney that has been assigned to the case.

Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Jerad Smith said there was no objection to a pretrial hearing being set, noting that testing of evidence has been slowed recently. Judge Self set the next hearing for January 27.

On August 11, 2019, Torian got into a verbal argument with Moore while they were passengers in a vehicle. Hopkinsville Police said an eyewitness told officers Torian got out of the vehicle on McHenry Street, opened the front passenger door, and shot Moore in the face. Police reported the eyewitness positively identified Torian as the shooter, and he was later arrested in Clarksville.
