A man was charged after he reportedly assaulted an officer in Trigg County Sunday morning.
Trigg County Sheriff’s deputies say 25-year-old Jeffrey Blevins was found in a vehicle that was impeding the flow of traffic on South Road, at the intersection of Nelums Road. When deputies made contact with Blevins he allegedly became belligerent towards them and hit one of the deputies in the back before they were able to get him on the ground and arrest him.
Blevins was found to be under the influence of an unknown substance. He was arrested and charged with third-degree assault of a police officer, possession of meth, resisting arrest, criminal mischief, DUI, and several traffic offenses.
