State Police have charged a Cadiz man with murder and are searching for a woman believed to be connected to that murder on Will Jackson Road in Trigg County on September 16th.
State Police say 42-year-old Jonathan McCoy was charged with the murder of Thelma Ilene Barnett and then setting her house on fire. According to the arrest warrant, McCoy is accused of tying Barnett’s hands behind her back, strangling her to death, and then setting fire to her home with her body still inside.
Additionally, State Police say they are still looking for 29-year-old Keisha Stewart, of Cadiz, for questioning in the investigation. She is believed to be in the Cadiz or Hopkinsville area.
McCoy is charged with kidnapping, murder, second-degree arson, tampering with physical evidence, and abuse of a corpse. He is lodged in the Christian County Jail.
