Kentucky Reports Another Record High for Single-Day Death Total

On the day that Kentucky again announced the highest single-day total of deaths, Governor Andy Beshear also said Wednesday afternoon the report included four people under 60.

Beshear confirmed 37 new deaths and said there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

The state also announced 3,601 new COVID-19 cases, including 379 children.

In some good news, the number of those hospitalized have decreased slightly to 1,768, down 9. There are also 427 in the ICU and 234 on the ventilator with the virus. The state now has a positivity rate of 9.62-percent.

Beshear said the latest White House report notes a further post-Thanksgiving surge will compromise patient care, as he hopes the surge in Kentucky will remain small.
