Christian County Schools Reporting Highest Active COVID-19 Cases Among Staff

The Christian County Public School system is reporting the highest number of active staff member COVID-19 cases, as all students are completing virtual work from home.

Superintendent Chris Bentzel said Tuesday afternoon during a briefing with area media members; they currently have 20 active faculty/staff cases.

Bentzel added he doesn’t think in-person classes will resume next week for elementary school students because of a high county incidence rate.

Bentzel hopes the community follows all of the COVID-19 guidelines to curb the spread and allow students to come back to the classroom as soon as possible.

During the conference, Bentzel was asked if people having holiday parties at home or work could be detrimental to the district.

He added before Thanksgiving Break and for the upcoming Christmas Break, they are asking their staff members to be mindful about their holiday plans but are stopping short of telling them what they can or can not do.
