Trigg County Public Schools has announced a Director of Curriculum and Instruction.
Community Education Coordinator Sarah Elliott said Karen Solise would join them at the end of December. Solise will take over the Assistant Superintendent of Instruction position that was left vacant when Beth Sumner retired. Randy McCallon has been serving the school as interim in the position since Sumner’s retirement.
Solise has worked in various education positions for the past 24 years, including teacher and Curriculum Coordinator at Hopkins County Schools, Principal at McLean County Middle School, and Director of Instruction at Caldwell County Schools.
Superintendent Bill Thorpe said they are excited to welcome Solise to the district and added that she would benefit students and staff tremendously.
Solise was chosen from a large pool of applicants based on her experience with Career and Technical Education, Extended School Services, English Language Learner services, Gifted and Talented programs, and many others.
