Hopkinsville Man Charged After Fleeing From Police

A Hopkinsville man was arrested after he reportedly fled from police on Mechanic Street Monday night.

Christian County Sheriff’s Deputies say they were in the area for a report of shots fired and noticed 49-year-old James Bush attempting to hide his face while walking and hiding behind a home in the area. Deputies say after turning around to talk with Bush he was seen looking into vehicle windows and was argumentative as they talked with him.
Bush was reportedly found to have seven active warrants and was asked to put his hands behind his back but he would not and fled from deputies on foot.
Deputies say Bush disobeyed their commands to stop and was tased before he was arrested.
During the arrest, Bush was reportedly found to have an individual socket containing steel wool that was still warm but contained no suspected controlled substance.
He is charged with second-degree fleeing or evading police and resisting arrest.
The investigation into the report of shots fired was closed with no evidence.
