State COVID Numbers Pass 1,000 Again Monday

Kentucky announced the highest number of COVID-19 cases for a Monday.

In numbers released Monday afternoon, the state confirmed 1,032 new COVID-19 cases and three new deaths. Currently, 988 Kentuckians remained hospitalized with the virus, while 270 remain in the ICU. The state’s positivity rate is 6.25-percent.

In Christian County, health department officials confirmed 36 new cases Sunday and Monday. The department did not provide any age data Monday evening but said they would resume providing later this week. In all, the county has seen a total of 2,082 cases, with 310 considered active.

In Lyon and Trigg counties, the Pennyrile District Health Department confirmed 11 new COVID-19 cases from over the weekend and Monday.

Lyon County reported three new cases, including; a 19 and a 27-year-old male and a 49-year-old female. All of the new cases are isolated at home, and the county has reported 123 total cases.

Trigg County had eight new positive cases that included six males and two females that range in age from 25 to 75. All cases are isolated at home, and the county has reported 267 total cases.
