Christian County Reports 29th COVID Related Death

The Christian County Health Department reported the 29th COVID-19 related death in the county Thursday morning.

Spokeswoman Amanda Sweeney said the deceased was an 86-year old Caucasian female with underlying health conditions. She also extended their thoughts and prayers to the friends and family of the woman who passed away.

In Christian County, active COVID-19 cases have increased 12-percent in the past week, with Wednesday’s overall total of 278 one of the highest since the pandemic began.

The county has averaged 23.7 new cases a day over the past week with 31 new cases reported Wednesday. The health department said the positivity rate from the free testing at Tie Breaker Park over the past week was 13-percent.
