Trigg Magistrates Considering Lower Speed Limit for Portion of Kings Chapel Road

Trigg County magistrates are exploring the possibility of lowering the speed limit on a portion of Kings Chapel Road.

The road currently has a speed limit of 55 MPH, but some residents along the road have requested it be lowered.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet conducted a speed test at the 2.7 mile-marker on October 13.

The issue was brought before the court by Magistrate Alana Dunn and seems to be most concerning from Kentucky 3468 to Scottsdale Drive.

After the study was completed, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said the fiscal court could justify setting the speed limit to 50 MPH.

Dunn said the suggestion from those living along the most congested portion of the road is 45 MPH.

She added the complete study will be presented to those who had the concerns. Dunn said she will bring the information from her conversations to the next meeting.
