A legendary teacher who dedicated four decades of her life to the Christian County Public School District and who passed away at the age of 109 years old last month was honored by school board members last week.
During the recognition of Emma Bacon, Board Vice-Chair Tom Bell said Bacon graduated from Attucks High School in 1928 and had a Bachelor of Science from Kentucky State University. He added she served with Christian County Public Schools for forty years.

Bell then made the Lifetime Achievement Award presentation to Miss Bacon’s family who was on hand at the meeting.
