Princeton Fire Chief to Retire After 42 Years Service; 22 Years As Chief

Princeton’s Fire Chief will be retiring after 42 years of service to the local community, 22 years of which were served as Chief.

During a Princeton City Council meeting Monday Mayor Kota Young announced the retirement of Brent Francis, effective October 31st.

In other business Police Chief Chris King addressed the council concerning a grant application through the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security’s Law Enforcement Protection Program.

Mayor Young noted his thanks to Chief King for searching out alternative funding outside of tax payer dollars. Following a motion, second, and roll call vote the council unanimously approved a resolution authorizing the grant application.

Mayor Young then reminded those assembled that the city will not interfere with traditional trick-or-treating this Halloween.

The City is hosting a Halloween Scavenger Hunt Saturday, October 31st from 3 until 6PM throughout town for a chance to win over $300 in cash and prizes, courtesy of the Princeton Rotary and Optimist Clubs.
