Cadiz City Council Candidates Discuss Leaving EDC in Forum

During the News Edge Cadiz City Council Forum Thursday the candidates discussed their positions regarding the city leaving the South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council.

Each candidate was asked if they supported the decision, and what plan they proposed to bring business to Cadiz and Trigg County.

Bob Noel says they need to keep promoting Cadiz to draw business.

Brenda Price says they need to begin by supporting their small businesses.

Susie Hendricks says the EDC didn’t support their small businesses the way the council wanted.

Jeannie Bodine says she was upset that the county and the city were paying twice to the EDC.

Brian Futrell says they were spending more on the EDC than they saw in return.

Frankie Phillips says he didn’t believe the EDC gave results for what they paid.

Susan Bryant says she was also bothered by the amount they were paying to the EDC.

The candidates also answered questions regarding downtown development, the restaurant tax, and more. The full audio can be found on our websites.
