Jeffers Bend Torchlight Tales Set For October 24

As many as 300 children and adults are expected to attend the annual Torchlight Tales later this month at the Jeffers Bend Environmental Center in Hopkinsville.

Jeffers Bend Coordinator Charles Turner says two well-known speakers will be sharing the Bell Witch Story at the event.

He adds you never know what is going to happen when you’re sitting around the campfire during the telling of the Bell Witch Story.Turner says attendees will be required to follow some health guidelines in place due to COVID-19.

He adds attendees will also need to wear masks and social distance during the event. When attendees arrive, Turner says they will be served hot chocolate, homemade cookies, and s’mores and then finish off the night around the campfire.

The 5th annual Torchlight Tales/Bell Witch Story will be held Saturday evening, October 24, at 6:00 at Jeffers Bend Environmental Center on Metcalfe Lane in Hopkinsville. The cost is $5.00 per car with free entry for active military and first responders.

The event is sponsored by the Jeffers Bend Steering Committee, in cooperation with the Pennyrile Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) Area Council.
