Two Charged In Trigg County Armed Robbery

Authorities have charged a Murray man and woman with robbing a man during the purported sale of a vehicle in Land Between the Lakes Sunday morning.

Trigg County Sheriff’s deputies say James Pryor and Taylor Goins were located in Tennessee after a report of shoplifting and interviewed by Trigg County Detective Dane Hughes. Both reportedly confessed to meeting a man at Colson Hollow Group camping area who was selling his vehicle and using force to take it.
Deputies say during the sale, Pryor pulled out a machete and a taser and demanded the keys stating “you know what I’ll do with this machete”. The couple fled in the stolen vehicle telling the seller they were leaving the state.
No one was injured in the robbery. The robbery was reported to deputies around 2 am.
Pryor and Goins are both charged with first-degree robbery.
