Todd County Reports Three COVID Related Deaths Monday

The Todd County Health Department reported the highest single-day number of COVID-19 deaths and newly confirmed cases in the county on Monday. The health department announced three deaths related to the virus and ten new cases.

Director Jen Harris said the three deaths related to the virus is associated with a single outbreak that still has active cases. She did not provide any other information but extended their thoughts and prayers to the families of the Todd County residents who passed away.

According to Harris, the ten cases include an adult with underlying health issues who is hospitalized and not connected to any other cases. Seven of the cases are healthy adults who are all isolated at home exhibiting no symptoms to moderate symptoms. Three of those cases are not linked to any others infected with the virus.

Harris also reported two minors are among the new cases and both are isolated at home — one with no symptoms and the other with mild symptoms that have resolved. She indicated one of the minors was linked to another COVID case.

The ten new positive coronavirus cases confirmed Monday follows five new COVID cases reported Sunday, nine on Saturday, and eight on Friday.

To date, a total of 225 cases have been confirmed in Todd County. Of those, 193 have recovered, 20 are healing at home, four are hospitalized and there have been eight deaths linked to COVID-19.

Harris reports the county’s recovery rate is 86%.
