Milling and Paving Along Trigg County Roads

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans milling and asphalt paving along a few roads in Trigg County starting Tuesday.

Spokesman Keith Todd said the first paving project includes U.S. 68-Business/Main Street through downtown Cadiz. This will take place from the Kentucky 139 intersection eastward to Scott Street. Todd added no curbside parking will be allowed on Tuesday and Wednesday to facilitate this project.

The next work zone includes Kentucky 918/Canton-Blue Springs Road from Mount Pleasant Church Road eastward to the Kentucky 1489/Blue Springs Road intersection.

Also, Kentucky 139/South Road from Old Cadiz-Maggie Road northward to Sawmill Road, a distance over 3 miles.

Todd said the contractor plans to start milling on all routes Tuesday and will be followed by paving for the U.S. 68-Business and Kentucky 918 Wednesday. He added the contractor plans to pave Kentucky 139 Thursday and Friday, weather permitting.

Motorists should be alert for one-lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers in the work zones. Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and maintenance personnel are along the roadway near traffic flow.

Todd said in case of rain, the work schedule will move to the next favorable working day.
