12 COVID-Linked Deaths Reported Across Kentucky Friday

Governor Andy Beshear said Friday afternoon the Commonwealth can not continue to have days of more than 900 new COVID-19 cases every day.

Beshear confirmed 930 new cases Friday, including 131 among children and 23 of which were children age 5 or younger.

He continues to urge residents to mask up, engage in social distancing, and regularly wash your hands.

In addition, Beshear confirmed 12 new deaths Friday raising the statewide death toll to 1,149. The deaths included a 79-year-old man from Marshall County.

Since March, more than 1.3 million COVID-19 tests have been performed across the state and the positivity rate now sits at 4.48%.
