Finley Encourages In-Person Voting For General Election

Trigg County Clerk Carmen Finley is encouraging everyone to get out and vote in-person, if possible, during the upcoming November general election.

Finley adds there is a nationwide push for mail-in voting but she would prefer in-person voting to ensure they get your ballot. She said they will be opening locations for early in-person voting beginning Tuesday, October 13th.

If you choose to wait and vote on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3rd, Finley adds they will have two centers open for in-person voting.

However, she points out you can only vote one time and because they use electronic equipment they will be checking identifications and will know if a registered voter has already voted before that day.

She also says for those who are uncomfortable voting in-person, you can request a mail-in ballot by going to govoteky.com or by calling the Trigg County Clerk’s Office.

If you do vote by mail and you are worried the ballot will not get to the County Clerk’s Office in time, Finley says you can drop it off at her office or the post office.

She adds you can also drop your ballot off at the drive-thru window at the Trigg County Clerk’s Office or the drop-box inside.

Finley adds they expect a busy election and she wants to encourage everyone to do your civic duty and vote.
