Rain and Storms Possible Friday and Saturday

An area of low pressure will move north from the Gulf of Mexico into the Tennessee Valley and provide a chance for showers and thunderstorms Friday and Saturday.

Weather Edge forecaster David Powell says counties along the Tennessee border will see the best chances for rainfall.

Powell adds the weather should remain dry beginning Sunday through early next week. He adds highs will rise to the upper 80s by Monday.

Forecasters are keeping an eye on the tropics, which could affect weather locally.
