Motorists need to be aware that some streets in Hopkinsville will be closed in the evening hours this week in order to allow continued maintenance work along the CSX rail line, weather permitting.
According to city officials, the work will require roads to be closed as follows:
– East 9th Street will be closed beginning Monday evening at 6:00 and will remain closed until morning.
– East 4th Street will be closed Tuesday evening from 6:00 until morning.
– East 1st Street will be closed Wednesday evening from 6:00 until morning.
– On Thursday, CSX will start work on remaining rail crossings throughout Hopkinsville, which will remain closed through the weekend.
City officials say traffic should prepare to detour as needed.
