Authorities have charged a man Monday morning in connection to a body that was found in a wooded area on Old Rocky Point Road in Trigg County Thursday afternoon.
The Trigg County Coroner’s Office says they were called to the area for a report of possible human remains being found and located the body of 25-year-old Cameron M. Phillips of Powderly.
Kentucky State Police say 31-year-old Montie Streeval of Cadiz has been arrested in connection with Phillips’s death.
Police say Phillips died from a gunshot wound to the head.
Phillips’s body was reportedly badly decomposed and was sent for an autopsy Friday morning in Madisonville. Phillips’s body was located near a cemetery on Old Rocky Point Road.
Streeval is charged with murder and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
