Beshear’s COVID-19 Orders Will Remain For Now

Governor Andy Beshear’s COVID-19 orders will remain in effect after action from the Kentucky Supreme Court Friday.

During his news conference Friday afternoon, Governor Beshear says they temporarily halted a Boone County judge’s ruling blocking all past and future public health orders responding to the COVID-19 emergency.

Beshear adds he felt a sense of relief when he read the supreme court ruling.

The supreme court will now decide the fate of the health orders.

In addition, Beshear confirmed 531 new cases, ten of which are from children under the age of five.

Eight new deaths were reported Friday, including a 68-year old male from Muhlenburg County.
