The James E. Bruce Convention Center staff and local officials thanked and honored first responders Thursday evening by offering them a free dinner.
During the meal sponsored by the convention center board of directors, first responders were able to come and go freely and enjoy a fresh hamburger or hotdog. Christian County Judge-Executive Steve Tribble and Hopkinsville Mayor Wendell Lynch took the time to thank first responders for all that they do while presenting a special proclamation.
Tribble said the service they provide is very vital.
Lynch commended the work first responders in Hopkinsville and Christian County do on a daily basis.
Both declared Thursday as First Responders Appreciation Day in Hopkinsville and Christian County and presented the proclamation certificate to Hopkinsville Fire Department Chief Steve Futrell.
