WKRBC Conducting COVID-19 Antibody Testing

The Western Kentucky Regional Blood Center is conducting COVID-19 antibody testing for blood donors through September.

The test will determine if the donor’s body has formed antibodies in response to COVID-19. Antibodies, proteins made in response to foreign antigens in your body, help the immune response that fights diseases.

Donor Recruiter Robbin Shivley says the test is optional to all blood donors.

WKRBC will be hosting a blood drive at the Regional Blood Center on July 20-23.

Shivley encourages everyone to donate blood as donations have been short because of the pandemic.

The Regional Blood Center is located at 1902 South Virginia Street in Hopkinsville.
