U.S. Forest Service Reminds LBL Lake Goers To Be Safe

With the warmer weather and sunshine, more people are heading to Land Between the Lakes National Recreational Area to take advantage of Barkley and Kentucky lakes.

U.S. Forest Service Communications Specialist Emily Cleaver says now is a busy time on the lakes and they want to remind everyone to use caution and wear a lifejacket.

As of June 12th, the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources reported twelve males had drowned in waterways across the state since the start of the Memorial Day holiday weekend. They said the majority of those drownings were under the age of 30.
