Mary Lander Recalls Overcoming Racism on Journey to Success

Mary Ann Lander was the second African American principal in the Trigg County School System and moved up the education ladder to eventually retire as assistant superintendent.  She was one of the speakers at Saturday’s Awaken protest and march and recounted times racism affected her ability to become a teacher and later in her duties as an elementary school principal.
