Pennyrile Electric officials say a bird caused a power outage at the Fruit Hill Substation in Christian County Friday morning.
The outage occurred around 7:00 and affected 1,283 members and was restored a short time later.
Officials at the electric company say they go to extreme measures to minimize exposure within their substations to protect wildlife and prevent outages. However, they add outages due to wildlife still happens occasionally.
