Princeton Police Say No Threat Against Peaceful Gathering Thursday

Local law enforcement are assuring the public that a peaceful protest scheduled for Thursday, June 4th will stay just that, peaceful. Princeton Police Chief Chris King tells the News Edge that while several rumors have been going around social media his office has not found any viable threat for violence during the event. He adds officers will be there as a precaution to assure the safety of those who gather.

Chief King notes a small gathering was held downtown over the weekend that remained peaceful and believes the same will happen Thursday.

Community members are being encouraged to gather peacefully in the Butler campus parking lot on West Main Street at 4:30PM to stand in solidarity and stand together, regardless of race.
