There are now three candidates for Hopkinsville Mayor after an Independent candidate filed to run in the November General Election on the last day to file.
The Christian County Clerk’s Office reported Tuesday afternoon that Walter T. Shamble filed to run against Republican candidate James R. Knight and Democratic candidate Wendell A. Lynch for the unexpired term for Mayor of Hopkinsville.
In the race for Hopkinsville City Council, Ron Hicks is running unopposed in Ward Two, along with Charles “Chuck” Crabtree III in Ward Four and Don Pemberton in Ward Five. Two candidates are vying for the Ward Three seat: Jarred Mathis and Karen Bass.
Additionally, all school board seats that are up for election will be contested. In District One, incumbent Jeff Moore and John M. Bruce are running for the seat. District Two candidates include Tiffany Mumford Brame and Nichole Eastman, with Raymond Michael Walker and Desma Renea Nance Blount running in District Four.
