UPDATE – Shooting Leads To Crash In Hopkinsville

Police have released more information about a shooting that led to a wreck on Fort Campbell Boulevard Monday night.

Hopkinsville Police say several shots were heard around 9 pm just before a wreck at the intersection with Eagle Way Bypass.

Corey Lee of Hopkinsville was reportedly in the Lowes parking lot to meet someone when he was robbed and he attempted to chase the suspect in his vehicle to get a license plate.

During the chase, Lee was shot and hit a vehicle causing it to overturn on Eagle Way.

Lee was reportedly taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center with a gunshot wound then flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville with non-life-threatening injuries.

The occupants of the vehicle Lee hit were taken to Blanchfield Army Community Hospital with minor injuries.

Lee is a soldier stationed at Fort Campbell.
