Hopkinsville “I Can’t Breathe” Rally Draws Crowd

More than fifty people of all ages and races spent Sunday afternoon showing their support for the “I Can’t Breathe” movement.

Among those speaking during a rally at the Christian County Justice Center that was aired on the Kentucky New Era Facebook Page was Iraqi War veteran Marvin Barnes who encouraged those on hand to meet negative with positive.

Others speaking during the rally were Reverend C. R. Miller and Christian County Magistrate Maggie Ferguson.

Several people stood along 9th Street displaying signs and showing their support for the movement that was spurred by last week’s death of George Floyd and the recent death of Louisville resident Breona Taylor, who was shot by police during a raid of the apartment she was in.
