Trigg Seniors To Be Honored With Special Parade Saturday

Parents of Trigg County High School seniors have put together a special parade that will take place Saturday afternoon to help honor their sons and daughters who are getting ready to take on the world.

Carrie McGinnis, the mother to Sam Utter, tells the News Edge the COVID-19 pandemic has ruined a lot of things for the class. McGinnis says the time between senior year of high school and going off to college is special.

She adds this time has also been hard on them, as parents.

McGinnis says they are considering this a “reverse parade”.

The parade will take place from 2:00 until 4:00 PM and will be very inclusive.

She says anyone who wishes to participate in the parade to line up in the student parking lot behind Trigg County High School by 1:45 PM.

McGinnis asks everyone who wants to participate to follow all current safety and health guidelines to protect everyone.

Special coverage of the parade will air on 106.5 WKDZ, wkdzradio.com, and the WKDZ app beginning at 2:00 PM.

Following the parade, the seniors will participate in the Trigg County Farm Bureau Insurance Norman Cotton “Cap Toss”. If you are unable to participate in the parade, you can watch it via the Hancock’s Neighborhood Market live video feed on the homepage of wkdzradio.com.
