Ft. Campbell Continuing Most COVID-19 Precautions

Even with some restrictions being lifted in Tennessee at restaurant and retail locations, officials with Fort Campbell say they are not making any changes at this time.

During their Tuesday evening Town Hall, 101st Airborne Commander Major General Brian Winski says those locations across the installation will continue their limited operations.

Winski adds they have opened hunting, fishing, and golfing locations, with specific limitations on golf.

In non-COVID-19 related news, Winski says over the last several weeks he feels they have secured commitments from Campbell Crossing partners to build new housing quarters.

He says that will help minimize the challenges they have with their on-post family quarters.

Winski adds they believe they have secured an additional $100-million in funding for renovations of the 1st Brigade barracks, with renovations expected to start in the coming months.

During the Tuesday update, Winski shared that two active-duty soldiers have tested positive for COVID-19, with no official number released on how many cases remain active on the installation. In addition, it was reported 300 solders from different training installations have been taken in and integrated into other positions at Fort Campbell.
