Submissions For ‘Hope For Hoptown’ Art Competition Being Accepted

The Pennyroyal Arts Council and the City of Hopkinsville have united to launch an online art competition ‘Hope For Hoptown: Art to Unite & Inspire’ that is now accepting submissions.

Officials with the Pennyroyal Arts Council say amateur and professional artists aged 18 and older living in the greater Hopkinsville-Christian County area are encouraged to participate in the free online competition. They add entries will be judged within three categories: written word, visual art, and original music. A local panel of judges will be assigned to each category with local git cards being awarded to the top three works in each category. In addition, a #hopeforhoptown fan-favorite will also be selected based on community voting available through the Pennyroyal Arts Council website.

Executive Director Margaret Prim says creativity has never been more important than it is right now. She adds we are so fortunate to live in this beautiful part of the country and be inspired by our surroundings. She says acting on your creativity is the perfect outlet for all the emotions of this unprecedented time in our history.

Details on eligibility and submission guidelines can be found on the Pennyroyal Arts Council website under the Events tab. Competition entries must be submitted by May 31 and winners will be announced online the week of June 15.
