Nearly $9,000 Raised At Theater’s Pop Up Popcorn Sale In Princeton

The community showed up and showed out and threw its support behind Capitol Cinemas in Princeton Sunday during their Pop Up Popcorn sale.

In a post on social media, theater owner Heidi Boyd stated the only word she could come up with to fully explain the support she received Sunday is “community.” She added that not only did Caldwell residents show up, those from Trigg and Lyon counties, as well as Dawson Springs and Marion, also came to purchase popcorn, fountain drinks, and candy.

Boyd announced that they made $8,939 from the over 300 cars that cycled through the drive-through event during the course of the afternoon and evening with the last cars receiving their order just after nine.

Boyd expressed her extreme thanks to all those who purchased items and for those businesses and individuals within the community who sponsored $10 specials and donated prizes and giveaways.

Tune in Tuesday morning to Coffee Talk on our sister station WPKY 103.3 FM/1580 AM during the 8 o’clock hour to hear more from Heidi Boyd about Sunday’s Pop Up Popcorn sale.
