COVID-19 Testing Sites Announced In Cadiz, Murray

Governor Andy Beshear announced two new local COVID-19 testing sites will be available starting next week.

During his Friday news conference, Governor Beshear says one of the new locations will be at Trigg County Primary Care at 214 Main Street in Cadiz. The site will be open to anyone 5-months or older Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Another site includes Murray-Calloway County Hospital at 803 Poplar Street in Murray. It will be open to all first responders, health workers, and anyone else exhibiting symptoms from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM Monday through Friday. Anyone interested in getting tested is asked to call (270) 753-0704.

Governor Beshear adds the Christian County Health Department will continue their testing site at Tie Breaker Park at 9503 Eagle Way Bypass in Hopkinsville next week. The site is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 11:00 AM for first responders, health workers, and anyone else with symptoms, with hopes to open next Saturday, May 2 from 8:30 to 11:00 AM.

Additionally, Governor Beshear announced the release of 352 prisoners from county jails across the Commonwealth.

 

The inmates whose sentences were commuted had less than five years to serve.

Governor Beshear announced the highest single-day number of cases at 322, pushing the total to 3,779. Out of the confirmed cases, 1,341 people have fully recovered from the disease. Eleven cases were confirmed in Hopkins County, with one case also confirmed in Caldwell, Christian, and Todd counties.

Ten new cases were reported at the Green River Correctional Complex in Muhlenberg County. Of those cases, eight were inmates and two were staff members and a new death was confirmed.

Nine deaths were also reported Friday making the total 200. Two deaths were reported from Hopkins County, and include a 54-year old male and a 90-year old female.
