More 101st Airborne Soldiers Deployed Wednesday For COVID Aid

The 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Fort Campbell deployed ten logistic experts Wednesday to aid in the ongoing COVID-19 relief effort in the northeast.

Fort Campbell officials say the soldiers assigned to the 101st Division Sustainment Brigade deployed to Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey. They join several other groups of soldiers at Fort Campbell who deployed in the COVID-19 response. On Saturday, about 70 soldiers from the 501st Medical Company deployed to Boston.

According to Army officials, the sustainment brigade has multiple capabilities, including transportation, contract support, and communication assets. The brigade also includes multifunctional logisticians, who can adapt to a wide variety of missions.

Other recent deployments from Fort Campbell include around 300 soldiers from the 531st Hospital Center who have been working at the Javits New York Medical Station since March 26; approximately ten soldiers from the Division Sustainment Brigade who deployed April 14 to the northeast region; and around 70 soldiers from the 501st Medical Company who deployed April 18 to Boston.
