Benjamin Goldberg is a special kid.  The 2020 Chevrolet Camaro Super Sport is a special car.  With the help of family and Wildcat Chevrolet, the two had a special day Tuesday.

Benji is a member of the Trigg County Class of 2020 that, like seniors across the nation, has seen their spring disrupted by the COVID-19 virus, canceling many senior-related functions and changing how graduation services will likely be held.

With the help of his sister Jessica and inventory specialist Chris Little at Wildcat Chevrolet, Benji got to have an impromptu photo session with the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro Super Sport that features a 6.2-liter super-charged V8 engine.  When Benji first saw the car, he said it looked like a bumblebee although the official color is ‘shock.’

On Tuesday, his mother Faye Sikes, who is a teacher at Trigg County High School, and sister Jessica took pictures of Benji and the Camaro as a way to help make his senior season memorable.  Benji was hoping to drive away with the $45,000 car, but his mom quickly told him the car was for photo purposes only.  But you can’t blame a guy for trying.

Benji was born with low muscle tone that makes it difficult for him to walk unassisted.  Despite his disability, Benji has become popular at TCHS and is on track to graduate next month.  His mom said he has been practicing walking on his own because he wants to walk across the stage at Wildcat Gym by himself to receive his diploma.  If the COVID-19 virus doesn’t take this away too, don’t bet against Benji to make that stroll across the stage.
