The Friends of Land Between the Lakes is wrapping up a fundraising campaign to help fund major upgrades to the Golden Pond Planetarium and is needing help to reach their goal.
Friends of LBL Executive Director Aviva Yasgur tells the News Edge they have a special donation match going on for the next few months.
She adds a majority of the funds raised will be utilized to purchase a new projector and the software system needed.
Yasgur notes if they reach their goal they hope to have the renovations completed later this year.
There are multiple ways to make a donation, including online.
The fundraising campaign has already raised over 90% of its $220,000 goal, which Yasgur says includes a significant contribution from Pepsi Mid-America.
The Golden Pond Planetarium offers programs daily every hour on the hour from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and hosts educational programs for regional schools.
