Christian County Grand Jury Returns Indictments For Strangulation

The Christian County Grand Jury returned indictments for strangulation, robbery, and unlawful taking over $500, under $10,000, and others Friday.

David Dean Williams

55-year old David Dean Williams, of Hopkinsville, was indicted on charges of first-degree strangulation, second-degree wanton endangerment, and fourth-degree assault – domestic violence. The charges stem from an incident on January 13 where Hopkinsville Police say Williams used a wooden pole to hit a woman in the head and back during an argument at the Roadway Inn on Fort Campbell Boulevard. He reportedly kicked the woman in the stomach and choked her during the fight before holding a knife to her ribcage.

Antonio Michael Brody

37-year old Antonio Michael Brody, of Hopkinsville, was indicted on a charge of first-degree strangulation. Hopkinsville Police report on January 8 they were called to Oak Tree Villa Apartments where Brody had got into an argument with his mother then pushed her onto the bed and placed her in a chokehold.

Ahree Ahkeem Carnes

18-year old Ahree Ahkeem Carnes and 19-year old Tysean D. Johnson, both of Hopkinsville were indicted on charges of first-degree robbery and second-degree unlawful transaction with a minor.

Hopkinsville Police report both entered a home on West 1st Street on January 5 and accosted the resident. The resident was injured in the struggle. Carnes stole a handgun, Johnson stole $500 from the resident, and a juvenile also accompanied in the robbery and stole marijuana from the home.

Karl Neontraz Bailey

27-year old Karl Neontraz Bailey and 29-year old Lewis Anthony Smith, Sr., both of Hopkinsville were indicted on charges of first-degree burglary and fourth-degree assault. Hopkinsville Police report the charges stem from when both entered a home with another man on October 14th and attacked a man inside by kicking, punching and stomping him. During the assault, one of the suspects reportedly asked another suspect to get a gun from the car but all three men fled when the police were called to the home.

Lewis Anthony Smith, Sr.

And 21-year old Tiajuana Shant’e Wallace, of Hopkinsville, was indicted on theft by unlawful taking over $500, under $10,000. The charge comes after Wallace admitted to Dollar General Loss Prevention that she had stolen $1,600 from the East Nashville Street location in Pembroke while working there. The arrest report from the Christian County Sheriff’s Office notes Wallace had taken money between July 11 to September 24, 2019, and was caught on camera numerous times.
