Update – Pedestrian Struck By Vehicle In Cadiz

A Trigg County High School student was taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center after being struck by a vehicle on Main Street in Cadiz Thursday night.

Cadiz Police Chief Duncan Wiggins said the pedestrian was in the crosswalk on Main Street in the area of Cardinal Drive in front of Trigg County High School when they were hit by a vehicle.

The pedestrian is Jordan Vinson, daughter of John Mark Vinson and Heather Ford.  John Mark says Jordan suffered a broken pelvis, fractured tibia, a possible broken ankle, and a punctured lung as the result of the accident. She was initially transported to Trigg County Hospital, then later taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center.  John Mark says Jordan was undergoing surgery Friday at Vanderbilt to repair her broken pelvis and other broken bones.  He said doctors told the family that they expect Jordan to fully recover, but it will take some time.

There had been a girls’ basketball game at the high school Thursday night, but it’s not immediately known if the pedestrian was leaving the gym to cross the street.
