Wind Advisory Issued For Western Kentucky

The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a Wind Advisory for western Kentucky, which is in effect from 9:00 Friday evening through 9:00 Saturday night.

Meteorologists indicate south winds of 20 to 30 mph may gust up to 45 mph at times, and then winds will shift to the northwest during the afternoon and evening hours.

Impacts from the gusty winds could down small or loosely rooted trees due to the saturated soil conditions. The strong winds and gusts will also present a potential traffic hazard, especially for high profile vehicles.

A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds are expected to reach 30 mph or greater for longer than on hour or wind gusts are expected to reach 40 mph for any duration.
