Severe Storms And Flooding Possible Saturday

The forecast for the next twenty-four hours calls for heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and a chance for severe storms.

During a Friday afternoon conference call, Paducah National Weather Service Meteorologist Sean Poulos says a threat for severe weather exists for the Pennyrile region between 6:00 and 8:00 Saturday morning.

Additionally, a Flash Flood Watch will go into effect for a majority of western Kentucky at 6:00 Friday evening.

Poulos adds a Wind Advisory will go into effect at 9:00 Friday night for all of western Kentucky.

He notes the gusty winds could make driving difficult in certain vehicles and uproot trees.

Hydrologist Mary Lamm says they will continue to monitor area river levels, especially the South Fork of the Little River in Christian County.
