United Way Continuing to Serve Pennyrile in 2020

The United Way of the Pennyrile is continuing to make a large impact in the four-county region they serve in the new year.

United Way President Annie Catron spoke during Tuesday’s Christian County Agribusiness Meeting to give an update of the ways they serve the Pennyrile area and how they hope to continue their work in the new year. Catron notes that in 2019, over 200 tons of food were distributed throughout Christian, Caldwell, Todd, and Trigg counties, and over 74,000 people were served through United Way.

She says the donations they receive directly fund programs to assist in providing basic needs for those that may not have them.

Catron adds the majority of the population in the southeastern region of the United States are one crisis away from needing an United Way service.
