Hopkinsville Man Charged For Trying To Pass Phony Cash

A Hopkinsville man was arrested after police say he attempted to use fake money at a gas station on West 7th Street Thursday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say 54-year-old Daniel Rager attempted to use a $100 bill marked with “for motion picture use” at the gas station and fled when questioned about the money.

Rager was reportedly seen by police in the area and attempted to run from them before being arrested.

Meth along with more of the fake money was allegedly found in the path Rager ran and in a trash can in the area.

He is charged with possession of meth, first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, second-degree fleeing or evading police and tampering with physical evidence.
