Hopkinsville Woman Charged With Assaulting Her Mother And Sister

A Hopkinsville woman was charged with assault and wanton endangerment after she reportedly assaulted her mother and sister on Talbert Drive Monday night.

Hopkinsville Police say 19-year-old Candace Johnson punched her mother in the head and hit her sister as she was holding Johnson’s 23-month-old child.

During the assault, Johnson reportedly got a knife from the kitchen causing her mother and sister to fear being harmed.

Johnson allegedly attempted to pull away from officers as they arrested her and threatened to kick the officer in the face if they searched her.

She reportedly told officers “I got you” and spit in the officer’s car.

Johnson is charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, resisting arrest, third-degree criminal mischief, and two counts of fourth-degree assault.
