An area lawyer has filed to run for the 1st District State Senate seat.
Republican Jason G. Howell of Murray, who owns a law firm, filed Friday with the Secretary of State’s Office to run for the seat currently held by Stan Humphries, of Cadiz.
Humphries announced earlier this month he would not seek reelection. The 1st District is comprised locally of Trigg and Calloway counties, and also includes Fulton, Graves, and Hickman counties.
