The 25th Annual Fraternal Order of Police Shop With A Cop program kicked off Wednesday night with 31 children being taken to Walmart with lights and sirens by several Christian County law enforcement agencies.
Shop with a Cop Coordinator, Lisa Gould said that officers from Christian County agencies volunteer their time to take children to shop for gifts.
Lisa Gould explains the participating child also receives gifts to open on Christmas.
Hopkinsville Fraternal Order of Police President Henry Gould says what’s unique about this event is the child is not shopping for themselves, but for their family, helping the child understand the giving part of Christmas.
